Join MakaHike, a truly unforgettable charity hiking challenge, and take on a sunset hike up Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) to raise vital funds for The Makaton Charity.
This guided hiking challenge for charity brings people together for an inspiring mountain hike at one of the most magical times of day.
We’ll meet in the late afternoon, hike together in daylight, reach the summit at sunset, and descend under the stars.
At the top, we'll celebrate our achievement with a special Makaton sing and sign, marking both the challenge completed and the powerful impact of inclusive communication.
The hiking challenge
This Snowdon hiking challenge is achievable for anyone with a little training and determination. While the path is uneven in places, you’ll be supported throughout the hike by a high ratio of qualified Mountain Leaders, experienced guides, and outdoor first aiders.
Whether this is your first mountain hike or you’re an experienced walker, MakaHike is designed to be safe, supportive, and rewarding.

MakaHike is an inclusive charity hiking event:

- Meet: 4:30–5:00pm
- Sunset at the summit: around 9:30pm
- Finish: between 11:30pm and 1:00am
